Children entering second grade through grade eight will participate in Family Formation, a tried and true curriculum developed by parents and driven by Sacred Scripture. The program is offered in both English and Spanish, cooperates with the 3-year liturgical cycle and has been approved by the USCCB.
The program consists of a combination of classroom gatherings and home lessons.
Families gathertogether monthlyfrom October through May, on the first Sunday of the month. The children are taught by catechists in grade-level classrooms, while the parents attend an adult session on the same topic and receive the materials they will use at home for the rest of the month. This monthly session and the materials provided equip the parents to fulfill their role as the primary educators of their children.

Weekly home lessons (requiring approximately 45 minutes per week) cover all the major principles of the Catholic Faith. Your family can choose a day and time that works for you, which will give you more flexibility during the week! Parents become strong in their knowledge and naturally bring their faith into everyday moments. Children see their parents living the faith and “catch it” from them.
Through hands-on activities, games, Scripture and music, children see the beauty of the Catholic Faith and families grow in the transforming love of God.
First Communion Preparation Sacramental Preparation for Reconciliation and First Communion are automatically incorporated in this program for second graders.
If your child is older than Grade 2 and needs the sacraments of First Holy Communion and Reconciliation, please sign up for the grade level your child will be entering in the fall of 2025 and indicate “Needs First Holy Communion” on the registration form. There is an additional fee for children receiving Sacraments to cover the cost of materials. After indicating your child needs the Sacrament of First Holy Communion, the Faith Formation Director will contact you to talk about options that suit your child.
